(w)ORD: EBBE+FLOW – en gruppeutstilling fra Norge og Skottland
EBBE+FLOW er en vandreutstilling; et resultat av (w)ORD, et fire års samarbeid og kunstnerisk utforskningsprosjekt gjort av ni kunstnere med base i Norge og Skottland: Sarah Jost, Marit Tunestveit Dyre, David Faithfull, Rhona Fleming, David Lemm, Jon Macleod, Imi Maufe, Randi Annie Strand og Calum Wallis.
(w)ORD begynte med kunstnernes felles opphold, først på Tormore, Isle of Mull i Skottland (2018) og deretter i Bergen og i Tjuvika i Gulen, Norge ( 2019). På hvert sted ble språk, landskap og historie undersøkt. Inviterte geologer, forskere, lingvister og lokale innbyggere deltok i seminarer og ekskursjoner sammen med kunstnerne.
EBBE+FLOW presenteres i en spesialdesignet kiste som inneholder en skuff for hver kunstner, samt utstillingsflater for to- eller tredimensjonale arbeider som skulpturer, tegninger, grafikk, og video. Slik kan arbeidene stilles ut i forskjellige sted; gallerier, ferger, låver eller andre utradisjonelle visningsrom. Med prosjektet følger en publikasjon, en kunstnerbok som vil bli lansert på utstillingsåpningen på Visningsrommet USF, Verftet. (w)ORD er initiert og kuratert av David Faithfull og Imi Maufe.

(w)ORD: EBBE+FLOW – a group exhibition from Norway and Scotland
EBBE+FLOW is a touring exhibition, stemming from (w)ORD, a four years collaborative communication and artistic research project between nine artists based in Norway and Scotland: Sarah Jost, Marit Tunestveit Dyre, David Faithfull, Rhona Fleming, David Lemm, Jon Macleod, Imi Maufe, Randi Annie Strand and Calum Wallis.
(w)ORD started with two BAG Art Camp/Society of Scottish Artists residencies, first at Tormore on the Isle of Mull, Scotland, (2018) and then in Bergen and Tjuvika in Gulen, Norway (2019). Each residency investigated language, landscape and history with invited geologists, scientists, linguists and local inhabitants taking part in seminars and field trips alongside the artists.
EBBE+FLOW is presented in a specially designed chest (kist) containing individual drawers for each artist, and a display space for flat work, unfolding to reveal sculptures, drawings, prints, video and artefacts to fill the space in any sized gallery, ferry, barn or other unusual exhibition space. An artist book publication accompanies the project and will be launched at the Visningsrommet USF
