Yes is the new No
(Manifesto for a Wild Democracy by TVF Collective, 2008)
TVF Collective has operated in the field between collective and political identities since 2006, with the intention of remaining in a state of constant transformation. The collective consists of real and fictive individuals who investigate opportunities of promoting new political subjects. TVF Collective calls for opportunities to stage and thus realize a more mischievous approach to criticism, in contrast to negation and various forms of nihilism that have dominated Western perspectives.
TVF Collective divides the space at Gallery USF into two zones to incite a battle between activist rhetoric and more subtle and cryptic languages. Contradictions and deviations within the collective is a central motivation for staging a “we” without collapsing into a common ideology. By incorporating fictive subject potentials, virtual identities become political agents alongside actual characters.
Manifesto for a Wild Democracy and Splinter Kids Manifesto are presented as a series of pamphlets. With the term “Wild Democracy”, TVF Collective attempts to establish an anarchism founded on ethical and Dadaist approaches. Wild Democracy is based on fractions of committed political subjects that utilize games as a strategy for resistance from within the very system they criticize.
In the video Deviant Militancies of Occupation a large crowd in a club-like setting move in a non-syncopated rhythm towards a common, undefined goal.
Live Stream Manifesto is a frenetic melody which dates back to a former totalitarian regime that exterminated an entire generation of perceived enemies of the system. The musicians performing the song disappeared as a result of the regime’s censorship.
In the video Splinter Trip # 1 two of the collective’s members are exposed in an inconclusive and eerie road movie. Imperceptible interferences within the fiction displace the participants towards a documentary scenario.
